Google Wave Opens Up to 1 Million Users, Still in Beta
I was one of the early adopters of Google's new product Wave. I quickly invited 20 of my closest business partners to test out the new phenomenon. As we played around with the new toy, we came to realize that it has a possibility of being just another social media to maintain in our every day busy lives. Or... it could be like Facebook, a complete u-turn on social media which has most users checking their profile 3-5 times a day via an iPhone or mobile devise.
I have used wave for a couple project-based case-studies. It does seam to solve the issue I've had in the past with liniar communication frameworks. Like skype or IM, there are issue with communicating one line at a time. Email has shown us this with mass emails that get single replies to a slue of different answers and broken conversations. Even with IM software which can create a "Chat Room" simulation has is limitations within a group collaboration. The one who can type faster, has the advantage in ruling the conversation.
I am interested to see where Google takes this application and if the mass media accepts it when it comes out of beta. Let's keep a close eye on this one, as it might take on legs of it's own, like other Google projects.
